Bio
Pauline Emilie Bird is a painter and multidisciplinary artist based in Washington DC. She grew up in Paris, France, and pursued a corporate career in the US while raising her twin daughters. In 2021, she dove into her art practice as a coping mechanism when she and her family were battling a health crisis. In 2023, she took a leap of faith and started showing her work, and continues to cherish all the pockets of time where she connects with her creativity.
Pauline Emilie is first inspired by her intention to create a warm and gentle home sanctuary for her family and her collectors. She draws on the soft forms of plants and flowers, asymmetric lines, imperfections and vintage materials. In her most recent series, Gentle Home, she incorporates vintage lace as a focal point, around which she layers earthy tones, pastel colors and gold.
Her collectors are fond of the emotions she conveys in her work, her keen eye for colors, style and design, often coupled with a modern twist on the Art Nouveau movement of the French Belle Époque.
